OUR STORY:
Before starting The Recovery Shop, Drs Lisa & Robert Conroy were both owners and chiropractors in a thriving family, lifestyle chiropractic and wellness studio. They set out on a mission to help the people in their community not only feel better but also recover from injuries by addressing their health issues/problem areas by the root cause.
They recognized the need to educate and to help them strengthen themselves and create more strength and stability in the body to prevent reoccurrence of injury.
They wanted to help people get strong, stay strong and continue to live the quality of life they want to live.
In today’s world there are no shortcuts, quick fixes, or magic pills- no one thing someone could do for themselves that would make them heal, get better and stay well. This harsh reality highlighted that healing and recovery could not be “done for” someone but rather “done with” them. In short, each individual is responsible and has to take part in their own recovery and healing, every step of the way.
The Recovery Shop was founded on the principle that by properly taking care of our bodies and focusing on specific recovery methods one could stay active longer, push themselves harder leading to increased performance as well as feel and function better on a daily basis.
Dr Rob and Dr Lisa are incredibly passionate about helping people become the best version of themselves and a big part of that is having your body being able to keep up with the life you want to live.
OUR 3-PILLAR APPROACH TO RECOVERY
By helping thousands of individuals reach higher levels of health and reach their health goals, they identified 3 steps that help individuals reach long-lasting changes;
1.) GET RID OF INFLAMMATION. REBALANCE THE BODY. PROMOTE RECOVERY AND HEALING. Consistent treatments to help shorten the inflammatory process, rebalance the body and promote recovery and healing of damaged tissues.
2.)BREAK BAD HABITS THAT ARE HALTING YOUR RESULTS
Breaking any bad habits or repetitive stress, that would recreate damage to tissues and worsen their symptoms, stifling their recovery.
3.) SPECIFIC EXERCISES AND STRETCHES TO HELP SUPPORT THE CHANGESWhen ready, individuals would have to engage in specific exercises to help stretch tight muscles, strengthening weak muscles and support the changes as their bodies returned to balance.
KEEP IN MIND: This method is not about the doctors, therapists, or trainers… it is about you, and supporting you in your journey back to a healthy lifestyle in the least amount of time with specific strategies needed to improve performance and recovery.
WE SHARE THIS JOURNEY WITH YOU
Through their own active lifestyles Snowboarding, rock climbing, martial arts, mountain biking, power-lifting, Paddle boarding , surfing, running, and cross training, they realized there are tools and strategies they would need to use to help their bodies recover and be ready to go again… and again!
In their personal journeys, Dr Rob and Dr Lisa have a goal: to stay fit and active for a lifetime. They are constantly researching the most up-to-date, evidence based ways to promote health and healing and sharing them with their community and now the world.
Take a look around and you will see one thing is clear, their passion for helping other is evident in all they do. Whether you are recovering from an injury or, seeking to improve your performance, the recovery shop has got you covered.
